CDC has set the mission to transition to Net Zero Carbon by 2030 for scope 1, 2 and defined scope 3 for our business in Australia by reducing the carbon intensity of our facilities, even as we grow.
Our New Zealand data centres have been Toitū net zero carbon certified since their first year of operation. Both campuses use 100 per cent renewable power and are certified Toitū enviromark diamond.
CDC has taken a deliberate approach to design and implement an innovative closed-loop cooling system to increase water efficiency across all data centre campuses.
As a result, CDC is one of the most water efficient data centres in Australia and New Zealand. Although we are already setting the standard in the industry, we are motivated to continue to improve our Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE).
Building on our achievements to date, we are progressing towards achieving zero waste to landfill certification across all our data centre campuses.
As part of our progress, we are establishing systems and processes which rethink the linear economic model of 'buy, use, throw away' to move towards a more circular approach.
